Technology today just moves lighting fast!  By the time you walk out of the store with your new gadget, there’s practically a newer one available that’s better.  This holds true especially for laptops and computers.  The article by PCWORLD provides some great tips on when you should buy a new computer.

I personally still use a laptop I bought back in 2005 when I started my company.  A Dell Inspiron 6400 – T2300 Intel @ 1.66GHz, 2 Gig RAM, 320GB HD.

Still boots up fast!  I’ve only rebuilt the hard drive ONCE since I bought it because I lost a battle with a virus and it was due time to upgrade anyways.  That’s when I bought a new hard drive – 320GB.  This was an upgrade from 120Gb.

By keeping the registry clean and uninstalling unused software, I’ve been able to keep it healthy.  Because it’s an older laptop, I run a clone of drive every week – just in case.

Anyways, have a read of the article and share the age of your laptop and what you do to keep it going!
